How does your credit score get affected while financing an item?

Hey all. I'm 20 years old and financed a motorcycle about 2 months ago. I had no credit so i co-signed with my mother. My first payments not till the 20'th. I am wondering how credit score works. Does it change monthly? or do they change your overall score yearly? I will be making payments on time and just want to know how long it would take before I get a good credit score so i won't need a co-signer for a car or other things in the future.
