Long Distance Relationship problem...what do you think?

I've been in this long distance relationship for 9 months and we both really love eachother but the problem is neither of us wants to move to the others city. I am really close with my family and I don't want to be 6 hours away from them. He just doesn't like the area I live in and says he wont be happy if he moves here. I don't know what to do. It would be such a shame to end the relationship over distance but I don't know what else to do. Should I just end it now and save us both the heartache? We can't compromise on a neutral location either. What should I do?
