Have any women's partners who 'disconnected' themselves during your pregnancy end up being good fathers?

When my husband and i first found out about our firstborn we had only been married for 2 months. I knew it would upset him because he never ever wanted kids. Needless to say he was mad. He hated any one mentioning it to him or for me to tell him anything about the pregnancy. He wouldn't even acknowledge the fact that I was pregnant the whole time. So I was scared he would leave after the baby. The day we had her I will never forget the look on his face. It was a look of total awe. He fell in love instantly, and is the best father ever. Now our daughter is almost 5 and she is his world. I am 36 weeks preggo with daughter number 2 and all he has done is talk about all the things him and his girls are going to do.
