Something weird happened in an experiment im doing, can someone tell me what it is?

I had a tulip and when it started to wilt and the petals started to dry, i took the petals stamen and pistol all the parts but the stem and put them all in a small jar of water. over time i recorded what goes on. The water began to turn orange and the contents also began to lose their color. Today when i went to check on the experiment, i noticed a sort of (for lack of a better word) cleaish pinkish goop floating around near the petals. I have NO idea what it is. It looks sort of like mucus
